Zach's 22nd Birthday!

The family of two of my students own a karaoke bar in Fco. Montejo called Foroum. We decided to throw Zach's 22nd birthday party there. We had a wonderful time with wonderful friends!

The DJ announced Zach's B-day. They put up his name on the screens, played music for his B-day dances, then after the dance made him drink a shot of tequila!

We know where Priscila got her charm and beauty after meeting her lovely mother, Laura!

Ah... the satisfaction of having discipline and a goal!

Of course if you have followed the blog at all you now know that when I speak of goals and discipline I am most likely referring to Ed and Zach.

And.. indeed again this is the case :)

So if you recall Zach is trying to get in better shape during his six month stay with us. His dedication to his goals has been fantastic and it definitely shows with the evident changes in his physique.

Zach has lost around 50 lbs and still has a month to go.

Ed has been getting ready to compete in local bodybuilding competitions. His first one was this past Sunday, the Copa de Merida. He looked great!

Me today... hmmm..well there is something to be said for being consistent.. Right??!!? :)

Zach and Deb in Dzibilchaltun

Zach and I were going to try to go to the zoo. My second attempt. We tried a year ago and it was closed for renovations. Today, Zach and I set off to try again, and again it was closed. Sigh....

So we grabbed lunch and decided plan B was to go back to the archaeological site, Dzibilchaltun. We had gone last Christmas time but their museum had been closed that time.

So off we went.

Then we ventured outside to the archaeological site.

Sisal

We spent Easter with our friend John. On Saturday we went to visit Sisal for lunch. It was beautiful and we had a great lunch at a restaurant on the beach. We enjoyed steamed stone crab, ceviche, and pesca frito (fried fish). It was fantastic. The beach was beautiful but busy with families vacationing. We decided we would revisit once Spring Break was done.

John drove us to a more remote part of the beach that was pristine and beautiful. Zach and John's dog Bebo enjoyed running on the beach :)

This is sweet Bebo. I fell in love with this little guy!
