Ed's Birthday... Enjoying Zach's Stay.... Lot's of Work..... Carnaval

We have really been enjoying Zach's presence here. It has been great having him to hang out with again. I think I and for sure the dogs are going to be very sad when it is time for him to go back to the States.

Rosie taking advantage of Zach's good nature to sneak in bed and share a nap.

He has continued to do well with his excercise regime and continues to lose weight. He is somewhere around 25 pounds lighter than when he arrived in December.

Both Ed and I have been working quite a lot. We are both so fortunate to have found such good people to work for.
Ed has made such positive changes in his clients and I am blessed with some really terrific students.
My students just finished their mid-terms and they did well...phew :)

We also just celebrated Ed's 50th birthday! It was a terrific day of picnicing on the beach.

The Yucatan's profesional baseball team the Leones were at Progreso training that day. I took pictures of them jogging while munching on cheetos.

This man is so nice. With all the people he meets selling treats on the beach, he always remembers us and stops to say hi (and we don't even buy his goodies ).
Even with it being earlier in the day, the beach was already beginning to hop with families because of Carnaval.

Zach demonstrating the 2 chocolate chip cookie eating method.
These are inflatable banana boat rides. Looks fun!

Ed with his birthday cake made by one of my students, Mayito, who owns a bakery.

Ed has been getting ready for another body building show in May. He was in the growing stage, now he is in the dieting stage (getting rid of the extra fat he put on with the extra muscle).

the girth)

On Monday night we went to Carnaval. As we did last year, we went to the regionales parade. This parade is dedicated to the local culture.

We stood down by the large main monument on Paseo Montejo

We watched parade of beautiful dancers, flashy floats, and the occasional scantily clad chicas.
It was very fun again this year.

As always no worries of criminal activities.
And if the police weren't enough there were plenty of super heros about.

We laughed because the float themes all incorporated a meteor in flight... LOL ..ahhhh I think the city is smelling the extra money they are probably going to make with the "end of the world" :)

This float was my favorite... no not because it had Leones baseball players on it... but because it was the cookie float!
The kids loved it too. They threw packages of cookies to the crowd.

A fun time for all.
