The Sand in the hour glass.... Our's appears to be quick-sand

Ed and I are quickly approaching our four year anniversary here in Merida. Most of the time it feels like it roared by at lightening speeds. Sometimes when I really sit down to reminisce, I realize how much we have done here in four years.
Our house soon after we bought it. Getting it ready for our move.

The majority of our experiences have been lovely and positive. There are a few, hmm well,  I carefully label as "Part of the Learning Curve"

We had the perfect storm hit us with immigration. We had a person who misrepresented his abilities as an aid in renewing your visas (I am again carefully choosing my vocabulary). His incompetence combined with a whole slew of new laws and administration at the INM office ultimately forced me into a trip back to the states to start a brand new visa (this was an expensive portion of the learning curve).

But in a more positive vein, we have made so many incredible friends here. Both Ed and I have adopted many new family members.

The furry members of our family are fat and happy. Picassa just celebrated her first birthday. You will be happy to learn she has no recollection of being a down and out street kitten. She is secure in the knowledge that she is a feline princess and she shares the house with her furry canine minions.

Picassa and Rosie soon after we found her

Picassa Now

Ed still loves training his clients. He is currently "bulking" (if you are not a bodybuilder, we call it binging on as much food as humanly possible). Hoping to jump back in to competing bigger than ever.

I am still teaching but have added Teacher Training to the class load. I have a fabulous group of students who are studying in CIS' two-year program to become certified English teachers.

The down-side of working so much is our trips to the ocean have become markedly diminished. We are trying to make the time to get our toes wet on a more regular basis again.
