As promised, to give you all a little more perspective on the other half of Merida, I present Norte:
Not that we ever needed a Jaguar or Mercedes dealership back in Phoenix....
Here are just a few of the hundreds incredible casas in Norte:
Well hopefully that helps show what we mean when we say Merida is a diverse and complicated place to describe. Everything in both the previous entry and this entry are all of 10-20 mins from our house. All crammed inside a circle.
You still won't be able to fully "get it" until you get here... so get here dammit LOL!
Love ya!
Thank you so much for sharing your adventures. Those of us stuck in the daily grind can live vicariously through you and Ed :-)
ReplyDeleteLittle America ( Americito) It seems funny that when looking at these photo's It reminds me of Berlin right after the wall came down in 95'. There is a Friday's there as well. I also remember a 5 story K-Mart in Prague. It amazes me how we think that we are the only ones who have all the stuff. Mexico and all the 2nd and 3rd worlders want stuff just like us. What this does do is give me security that business's can work down there and are stable. That makes be feel good about you guys starting you business down there and that there are enough people to keep it going. Happy day. Paradise it is and I am proud of you both for taking the dive and coming up with a smile.
ReplyDeleteexactly... I actually prefer the older parts of town and the pueblos... but it is important to ease family concerns that their loco relatives are now going to herd sheep...lol.. although I could own a few sheep and cows and be a happy camper... but Ed is not quite as 3rd world as I am LOL ...we all remember that Ed decided my chickens were viscious! LOL so we will stick with our dogs
ReplyDeleteLove Ya!
